A maritime innovation award is now in the possession of Inmarsat
For about $600 you can own a satellite phone - see me for details.
The Company's IsatPhone Pro has won this award, a mere eight months after its launch. Sail Magazine, an American print and online publication for the sailboat world, awarded Inmarsat's global handheld satellite phone its annual Pittman electronics innovation award. IsatPhone Pro was selected for its affordability, design, general appeal and utility for cruisers and racers. "IsatPhone Pro is compact, easy to use and less expensive than other handheld satellite phones," said Sail electronics editor Ralph Naranjo. "As a transoceanic communicator, the unit represents one of the most cost-effective satellite communications alternatives on the market today. "With its competitive pricing and dollar-per-minute usage fees, IsatPhone Pro is well worth a close look."
